In plain English: Children never hold their own account. Everything a child does sits inside your parent account, stays private by default, and can be reviewed, changed or deleted by you.
The parent account is in control
Learner profiles are created and managed from your parent account. Children do not create accounts, cannot sign up independently, and cannot change parent-level settings. Child Mode is entered from your account and can be protected with a PIN.
What we ask for
A nickname, an approximate age or year level, interests, and the settings you choose. We do not require a full legal name, exact date of birth, home address, child email address, phone number or school name. Please avoid entering identifying details in free-text fields or uploads.
Private by default
- Child profiles are not publicly searchable and are not shown to other families.
- Learning evidence uploaded by a child is private to your family unless you choose to share it.
- Community and Nearby participation is off for children unless you enable it.
- Child-to-child communication is restricted and off by default.
- Child views never present a marketplace, shopping or payment interface.
- Child-facing AI output keeps required safety and supervision guidance.
Privacy, rewards and parent review
Privacy: Completing or submitting work does not make it visible outside the audience permitted by your family settings. Learning evidence remains private to your family unless you choose to share it through an available, parent-controlled feature.
Rewards: Adventure Points, trail progress and related achievements are awarded only when the relevant verified learning event meets its configured reward rules. Depending on the activity, that event may be completing an eligible Project or learning activity, submitting eligible evidence, recording a reflection, or another configured learning milestone. These rewards are not earned for screen time, and they do not make a child's work public.
Parent review: Evidence and submissions go through parent review wherever that workflow requires it. You can approve, ask for a change, or delete a submission. A review decision may control rewards in features whose rules specifically require approval, but not every Adventure Point or achievement depends on parent approval.
Reporting and safety tools
Any listing, post or group can be reported from the Report action. Reporter identity is never shown publicly. Reports go to a private moderation queue and are handled under the Acceptable Use Policy, including the same 14-day appeal window.
Your controls
Review and delete evidence, adjust participation and communication settings, set or reset a Child Mode PIN, export your family data, delete an individual learner profile, and delete your account.
Compliance status
A formal United States child-privacy review, including any COPPA obligations, is a launch requirement and has not yet been completed by qualified counsel. We do not claim COPPA compliance.
