In plain English: We collect the minimum we need to run your account and your family's learning. Children's information is deliberately limited and private by default. You can export or delete your data. We do not sell personal information.
What we collect and why
| Information | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Parent account: email, first name, country and region, settings | To create and secure your account and show the right country content and pricing |
| Learner profiles: nickname, approximate age or year level, interests, parent-set options | To personalise learning plans and age-appropriate instructions |
| Learning records: plans, weeks, progress notes, evidence, achievements | To provide the planner, portfolio and Adventure features |
| Uploaded files and photos | To store the evidence and images you choose to upload |
| Curriculum searches, saved items and comparisons | To return results and remember what you saved |
| Community and Nearby content you publish | To display it to the audience you chose |
| Billing: plan, subscription status, payment provider identifiers | To manage membership; we never store full card numbers |
| Technical logs, device and session data | To keep the Service running, detect abuse and enforce single-session controls |

We do not require a child's surname, exact date of birth, home address, email address, phone number or school name.
Where information is stored
Data is held in our managed cloud database and file storage. Hosting and processing may occur outside your country, including in the United States and other regions used by our infrastructure providers. We use providers that commit to appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Who can access it
- You โ your own account and family data.
- Other users โ only content you deliberately publish, such as a community post or public group listing.
- Our staff โ limited administrators and moderators, only where needed to operate the Service, investigate a report, or provide support. Sensitive administrative actions are logged.
- Service providers โ infrastructure, payment and AI providers, under contract and only for the purposes described here.
- Authorities โ where required by law.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Third-party services
- Payments (Stripe) โ processes card details directly; we receive subscription status and identifiers only.
- AI processing โ content you send to an AI feature is transmitted to our AI provider to generate the output. Do not include information you would not want processed by a third party. See AI Transparency.
- Analytics and operational logging โ anonymous or aggregated error and performance data used to keep the Service working. We do not use advertising trackers.
- Curriculum search โ search queries may be sent to a search and indexing provider to return live web results.
Parent control over child data
Learner profiles are created, edited and deleted from your parent account. Child content is private to your family unless you approve otherwise. You can review or remove evidence, change participation settings, and delete a learner profile at any time. See the Child Privacy Notice.
Retention and deletion
We keep information while your account is active and for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. You can delete individual items, delete a learner profile, or delete your whole account from account settings. Account deletion begins a scheduled purge; some records (billing history, safety reports, enforcement records, security logs) are retained for a defined period where required for legal, accounting or safety reasons. Retention periods are listed in the Trust Centre.
Cookies
See the Cookie Policy. We use essential, preference and operational storage only.
Security
Access is restricted by account-level database rules, so one family cannot read another family's records. Uploaded files are served through private, time-limited links. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and never stored by us in readable form. Administrative actions are logged. No service can promise perfect security; tell us promptly if you suspect an issue with your account.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your information from your account, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to complain to a regulator. Country supplements set out the specific rights in Australia and the United States.
International users
The Service is offered in Australia and the United States. Country supplements in the Legal Centre explain local additions. Where a supplement gives you a stronger right, that right applies.
Changes
We publish an updated version with a new version number and review date, and notify you where a change is material.
