In plain English: The free plan stays free. Family Membership has a 30-day trial that needs a payment method, renews automatically until you cancel, and can be cancelled any time before the next renewal.

Prices shown in the app are the current configured prices for your billing region and currency.
Trial
Family Membership includes a 30-day free trial. A valid payment method is required to start it. We show the trial end date and the scheduled first payment date at checkout. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, billing starts automatically on that date. Cancelling during the trial prevents any charge. One trial per family.
Payment, currency and regional pricing
Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store full card numbers. Your billing currency and price are determined by your account region — Australian accounts are billed in AUD including applicable taxes as shown at checkout, and United States accounts in USD, exclusive of any sales tax unless shown at checkout. If you change region, the change applies from your next billing period.
Renewal timing
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly on the same day each month, or annually on the anniversary — until cancelled. The renewal amount is the current price for your plan and add-ons at the time of renewal; we notify you before a price increase takes effect.
Additional learner profiles
Learner profiles beyond the included allowance are charged as a per-child add-on at the configured rate. Adding a child mid-period is charged pro-rata by our payment provider; removing a child reduces the amount from the next billing period.
Coupons and invite codes
Coupons and invite codes are promotional, personal to you, non-transferable, have no cash value, and may be limited by expiry date, usage cap, region or plan. Only one code applies to a subscription unless we state otherwise. A discount applies for the duration shown (once, for a set number of periods, or ongoing); when it ends, the standard price applies at the next renewal. We may void a code obtained by error, fraud or abuse.
Complimentary memberships
We may grant complimentary Family Membership for a defined period — for example for reviewers, community contributors or hardship. Complimentary access does not renew, is not transferable, has no cash value, and may end early if the eligibility basis changes or the account breaches our policies. When it ends, the account returns to the free plan unless you start a paid subscription.
Cancellation, downgrade and expiry
You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and access continues until then; we do not pro-rate part-periods unless required by law. Downgrading to free keeps your data — plans, learner profiles and records remain, but membership-only features become read-only or unavailable. If a payment fails we may allow a short grace period before features are limited; if payment is not resolved, membership expires and the account returns to the free plan.
Refunds
This wording is pending professional legal review. Our approach:
- Cancel during the trial — no charge.
- Duplicate charges and billing errors — refunded.
- A charge you did not authorise — investigated and refunded where substantiated.
- Change of mind after renewal — at our discretion, generally where you contact us promptly and have not substantially used the paid period.
Mandatory consumer rights where you live — including Australian Consumer Law guarantees and any applicable United States state rights — override any inconsistent term here. Limitation of liability is set out in the Terms of Use.
